Project Update 3

16 April 2025

We are pleased to share our third bulletin update on the progress of the Crisis & Emergency Response Reform Project. We continue to advance through System Design activities, with a current focus on collating insights from recent engagement activities and responses received via the online platform.

Project activities in the past fortnight

Since our last update, we are pleased to have completed our first series of System Design Workshops. Over a two-week engagement period, we facilitated ten 3-hour workshops, alongside several consultations with sector stakeholders, consumers, families, and carers.

Throughout these sessions, participants explored the strengths and challenges of the current mental health crisis service system and examined how the five new or redesigned service models may best be integrated in the future system. We sincerely thank all participants for their meaningful insights and the expertise they brought to the space. Every contribution has been carefully captured and is being thoroughly considered in our analysis.

We are pleased to share a Consultation Summary, which outlines the key themes emerging from the consultations, based on discussions about both the current and envisioned future system.

We will continue to assess the insights provided, helping us assess the approach to move from the current to an ideal future state of the mental health crisis response system.
